HOW CAN I BUY TICKETS?

You can purchase your tickets through The Joy Theater website. To purchase tickets over the phone, please call Ticketfly at (877) 987-6487. Additionally, our Box Office will be open 1 hour prior to door time. 

WHAT ARE YOUR BOX OFFICE HOURS & FEES?

Our Box Office is only open on show days. It will open 1 hour prior to the door time. Door times for each show can very and guests should check event times listed on the ticketing page. A portion of the online service fees are still applied for box office ticket purchases. Customers generally save $2.50-$6 per ticket when purchasing at the Joy Theater box office. 

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

1200 Canal Street. We are downtown on the Upper End of Canal Street. Walking distance from the French Quarter. Located on the Canal Street streetcar line at the Loyola intersection.

IS THE JOY AVAILABLE FOR RENTALS AND/OR PRIVATE EVENTS?

I'M COMING IN FROM OUT OF TOWN AND STAYING OVERNIGHT. WHERE SHOULD I STAY?

We recommend our preferred hotel partners: B on Canal, Ace Hotel, The Troubadour, The Roosevelt, The Jung, Spring Hill Suites. 

WHERE DO I PARK?

There are surface lots and garages in the area. Guests should be mindful when parking on street parking areas and be cautious of city parking restrictions, pay zones, and adhere to city parking ordinances. Valet parking can also be arranged for private events.

WHAT IF I'M LATE TO THE PERFORMANCE? DO YOU ALLOW LATE SEATING?

If you are late for a seated-show performance (movie screening, comedy show, etc.), you may be held at the discretion of the ushers and/or reseated until an appropriate time for you to get to your assigned seat as a courtesy to the performers on stage and other audience members. It is best to arrive at least one hour early so that you have time to purchase concessions, take care of personal needs, find your seat, and read the program before the show starts.

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED TO ATTEND EVENTS? DO CHILDREN NEED A TICKET?

Children under the age of two do not require a ticket unless it is a private event where rules and restrictions may vary. For seated shows, children under the age of two without a ticket are required to sit on their guardian’s lap during the entire show. If a seat is desired, a ticket must be purchased for the seat whether or not the child is seated at all times. Children are encouraged to attend only special children's or family friendly events. For the comfort and enjoyment of all guests, children who are disruptive to other guests will be asked to leave the theater seating. Parents should use their discretion when deciding what shows are appropriate for children. Please see the individual show listings or contact the Joy Theater for recommended age.

CAN I BRING A CAMERA TO THE SHOW?

Our house policy is no flashes, no detachable lenses, no professional rigs, and no audio or video recording through professional equipment. Selfie sticks are not permitted. This is subject to change as our artists have their own policies that we are obliged to follow. If you are a professional concert photographer and are interested in covering a show, please submit a request to the Joy Theater for artist-team approval.

DO YOU SERVE FOOD?

We do not serve/sell food for a typical performance. However, guests are encouraged to check all show information as some events will have food components tied to the theme of the event such as a food trucks available outside of the venue. Catering can be arranged for special events. Joy Theater works with several preferred caterers for special events. Outside catering for special events can be arranged for a facility fee. 

CAN I BRING IN MY OWN FOOD/DRINKS?

As a general rule, no outside food and drinks are permitted in the venue, unless pre-arranged for special events. There are numerous dining options in the French Quarter and along Canal Street. It's New Orleans - even the street food is good!

IF I LEAVE THE SHOW CAN I COME BACK IN?

For many performances, re-entry is allowed. However, you must keep your wristband, and hand-stamp visible upon re-entry. We highly encourage guests to keep their ticket stubs during show nights.  We reserve the right to enforce a no re-entry policy. If you exit the venue to smoke you must be reprocessed through the security line. There is no expedited line for re-entry.

CAN I SMOKE IN THE VENUE?

No Smoking inside the venue & No Vaping. Guests must exit the venue for smoking breaks and must be reprocessed at re-entry through the security line. There is no expedited line for re-entry.

ARE YOUR SHOWS ASSIGNED SEATING?

Our balcony has a fixed seating format and our main floor is flexible. We will have both reserved seating shows and general admission. Please see the individual show listings for details on the particular shows seating arrangements.

I'M IN A WHEELCHAIR BUT WANT TO COME TO THE SHOW. IS YOUR FACILITY ADA ACCESSIBLE?

Yes! Our seating plan on the main floor is flexible, which means that seats can be removed. We have an elevator to the second and third floor. We are happy to make special arrangements to make sure you can get a good spot and be comfortable during the show. Please give us a call-in advance.

CAN I BUY TICKETS TO SHOWS AT OTHER VENUES FROM YOUR BOX OFFICE?

Our box office only handles Joy Theater shows.

CAN I REFUND MY TICKETS?

All tickets sales are final. Tickets will only be refunded if an event is cancelled. Show times and support acts are subject to change without notice. In the event that a show is cancelled, refunds for online purchases will be issued automatically to the card on which the tickets were purchased.
