How can I buy tickets?
You can purchase your tickets through TicketMaster. Our website allows you to connect directly to our TicketMaster page. You can call TicketMaster at 1-800-745-3000. Additionally, our Box Office will be open 2 hours prior to show time.
What are your box office hours?
Our Box Office is only open on show days. It will open 2 hours prior to the show time. There is a Will Call area for you to pick up your reserved tickets. Our Box Office, when open, is a full service ticketing center.
Where are you located?
1200 Canal Street. We are downtown on the Upper End of Canal Street. Walking distance from the French Quarter. Located on the Canal Street streetcar line.
Is the Joy available to rent for private events?
Absolutely! Contact our Sales Office for availability and rates. We can be reached at either: sales@thejoytheater.com or (504) 528-9569.
I’m coming in from out of town and staying overnight. Where should I stay?
We recommend our sister properties with the New Orleans Hotel Collection. A group of 7 hotels – all conveniently located.
Where do I park?
For certain shows, we will be offering valet parking. Additionally, there are surface lots and garages in the area.
Can I bring a camera to the show?
Our house policy is no flashes, no detachable lenses, no professional rigs, and no audio or video recording. This is subject to change as our artists have their own policies that we are obliged to follow. If you are attending a special event, we do have the ability to record performances. You should check with the event to see if this is part of their program.
Can I bring a minor to the show?
Each event/show is different. This information is acknowledged in the description of the specific show under “Upcoming Show”.
Do you serve food?
Not for a typical performance. We can serve food through our special events. We have a list of preferred caterers that we work with from casual to elegant and even a vegan, organic and gluten-free one!
Can I bring in my own food/drinks?
Only if this is arranged through the special events department. As a general rule, no outside food and drinks are permitted in the venue. There are numerous dining options in the French Quarter and along Canal Street. It’s New Orleans – even the street food is good!
If I leave the show can I come back in?
You must keep your ticket stub. We reserve the right to enforce a no re-entry policy.
Are your shows assigned seating?
Our balcony has a fixed seating format and our main floor is flexible. We will have both reserved seating shows and general admission. It is best to visit the specific show under “Upcoming Events” for details on the particular shows seating arrangements.
I’m in a wheelchair but want to come to the show. Is your facility ADA accessible?
Yes! Our seating plan on the main floor is flexible, which means that seats can be removed. We have an elevator to the second floor, so that is available as well. We are happy to make special arrangements to make sure you can get a good spot to watch the show, just give us a call in advance.
Can I buy tickets to shows at other venues from your box office?
Our box office only handles Joy Theater shows.
Can I refund my tickets?
All tickets sales are final.Tickets will only be refunded if an event is canceled. Show times and support acts are subject to change without notice. In the event that a show is canceled, refunds for tickets purchased from the Joy Theater will be issued at the Box Office. For online purchases, refunds will be issued automatically to the card on which the tickets were purchased.
